A multi-layer matching production cel and background from the Marvel Studios animated series "X-Men" (1992-1997). Featuring the intimidating protector Colossus breaking through a gate as he battles Omega Red, the hand-painted cel and background were created at the studio and used during the animation process. Both pieces create an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the season two episode "Red Dawn," which aired on November 13, 1993. Measuring 10.25"x14" overall, with the character cel image measuring 8"x12.25", the setup is in very good condition. The cel displays minor surface wear, slight line wear, production-related adhesive residue, and backing paper stuck to the reverse of the cel paint from studio use and storage. The background has a tear along the right edge and adhesive residue on the bottom corners.
