A model cel from the Don Bluth Studios animated film "The Secret of NIMH" (1982). Featuring Jeremy tangled in rope with his beak stuck into the ground, the hand-painted cel was created at the studio and used during the animation process. Model cels are created during production in the same manner as screen shot production cels, but are used for reference by the animators and ink and paint department to ensure consistent character design and color usage for characters in a production. Included with this cel is a Xerox model drawing with hand-notated color callouts and hand coloring. Measuring 10.5"x12.5" overall, with the character image measuring 8.75"x12.5", the model cel is in fine condition. The cel is paired with a color printed reproduction background for presentation purposes.
